The death has occurred of Very Reverend Canon Michael O’Brien, P.E., former parish priest of Buttevant.  A native of Imogeela, Canon O’Brien studied at Maynooth and was ordained in 1946.  He held the following positions in the diocese:

 

1946:   CC Clondrohid

1956:   CC Aghada

1967:   CC Ballycotton

1976:   CC Macroom

1985:   PP Clondrohid

1990:   PP Buttevant

1996:   Retired

 

 

He was appointed a member of the Chapter in 1992.

 

Canon O’Brien died on July 22^nd, one week after celebrating his ninetieth birthday.
