Fr. Stephen Cummins preached the funeral homily and spoke of the spirit of Fr. Tom which would long be in this sacred space with which he had been so intimately associated. Fr. Stephen reminded us of that spirit of Fr. Tom which was dedicated to lifting people up to see the beauty of life in themselves and in others. He spoke of his dedicated priesthood opening people to the sacredness of their lives as he shared with them his own love of God and of the world the creator has given us. Fr. Tom's great love of family and his direct advise to his friends was beautifully sketched by Fr. Stephen.

The Mass was concelebrated by a large gathering of Fr. Tom's colleagues from the diocese, from his class and from around the country. The people of the parish of Donoughmore came in memorable numbers to say farewell to their beloved Fr. Tom.

Fr. Robert Forde read a message from Bishop Magee to all who assembled for the Requiem Mass.( Bishop Magee's message)
